The Great Lakes Lightning 14 and under Fastpitch Softball team placed 28th out of 63 teams at the USSSA World Series in Orlando, Florida.
The team finished with a record of five wins and two losses.
Tournament statistics: Jordan Goslee of St Joseph hit .417 with eight RBIs; Sarah Sheffer of Watervliet hit .409 with six RBIs; Katelyn Bryce of Watervliet hit .353 including two triples. Pitcher Heather Phillips earned two wins.
The team finishes their 2003 season at the Petoskey Invitational Softball Tourney this weekend.
