Buchanan 10-year-olds faring well at Eaton Park

In the third round of play at the Eaton Park Invitational, the Buchanan 10-year-old All-Stars cruised past Hartford 15-0.
Kole Griffey hit a double to bring in two runs in the second inning. He brought in two more RBIs in the third inning.
Jake Wahlstrom had another fine game with five RBIs, three of which were in the third inning when the bases were loaded.
Bryan Kuntz had four hits, Brandon Jackson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and Dylan Arnold had three hits.
The Buchanan All-Stars' next game will be on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. against Bridgman.
Howard 9-year-olds beat South Haven at Eaton Park
Howard Township 9-year-old All-Stars continued play at Eaton Park with a win Saturday night, beating South Haven 6-3.
The Howard All-Stars came from behind and rallied in the third inning for four runs.
Zack Webber went 3-for-3 at the plate. Matthew McLaughlin and Dallas Munger each went 2-for-2. Bryan Reed was 2-for-3. Cody Beers and Zack Fillwock each had RBI doubles. Taylor Campbell and Logan Harpenau also had hits.
Tyler Fisher had a stolen base. Alex Grishaber did an awesome job behind the plate on defense and Luke Fifer did a nice defensive job of backing up plays in right field.
Howard's outstanding defense held South Haven to just five hits. Howard connected for 13 hits. All team members contributed to the win with outstanding team play, leadership and sportsmanship, including Jared Langmeyer who did not get to play due to an injury.
The Howard All-Stars continue play in the winner's bracket at Eaton Park on Wednesday night at 5:30.
Niles 16-18 year-olds go 1-2 at Ohio Valley Regional
The Niles Babe Ruth 16-18 year-old All-Stars won one game and lost two at the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament in Evansville, Ind., over the weekend.
On Friday, Niles beat West Virginia 6-3. Ryne Dowling tossed a three-hitter to earn the victory.
On Saturday, the Niles All-Stars dropped a 10-0 decision to the Hammond Chiefs. Brooks Bonner took the loss on the mound.
Finally, Niles lost 6-5 to the Cincinnati Storm. Isaiah Beckman took the pitching loss for Niles.
Brandywine 12-year-olds drop two at Ohio Valley Regional
The Brandywine Cal Ripken Jr. Babe Ruth 12-year-old All-Stars lost their only two games at the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament over the past weekend.
In a 7-1 loss to Ellitsville, Ind., Taylor Ort struck out seven batters. Ort, Cody Udell and Devin Backus each singled.
Jesse McCombs took the 11-3 loss to Lexington, Ky. McCombs and Udell each hit two singles and Adam Knight added a double.
