F.O.P. All-Stars defend home field in district play

NILES -- The Niles F.O.P. Little League 7-8 year-old All-Star team won another District 15 Tournament game Tuesday night, outscoring Mattawan 12-7 at F.O.P. Park.
Ethan Zimmerman led the F.O.P. offense with two doubles and two singles. Mitchell Dehn added two doubles and a single while Geordan Griffin and Connor Glick each hit three singles. Kevin Hatcher helped out with a double and a single. Tommy Briand, Skylr Kimble, Zackray Klingenpeel and Alex Wright each had a hit.
The Niles All-Stars will return to District 15 action tonight against Cassopolis at 7 p.m. in Cassopolis. The F.O.P. 7-8 year-olds are now 2-1 in the tournament.
Brandywine's 7-8 year-old All-Stars will play against Mattawan on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Cassopolis. Brandywine is currently 1-2 in tournament play.
