The Seventh Annual Scholarship Golf Outing, sponsored by the Cass County Community Policing Program through the Cass County Sheriff's Office, will be held July 24 at the Hampshire Country Club.
Play will be an 18-hole, four-person scramble with prizes, food (registration, sack lunch, &corn and hog roast upon completion of golf) and lots of fun for all participants.
There will be four Hole-in-One contests (a new car, trip and prizes), door prizes, closest to the pin, raffle, an auction with items to be announced, and lots more.
Another large turnout is anticipated for this annual event sponsored by the Sheriff's Office.
Businesses in Cass County have the opportunity to help the Sheriff's Office reach its goal by becoming a corporate sponsor in the tourney.
The team entry fee of $350 will include a company sign displayed at one of the holes, a special corporate gift, golf for four persons, food, non-alcoholic beverages, door prizes and will support efforts to raise scholarship funds for Cass County students. Once again, the goal is to provide eight college scholarships, the majority of which will be used for study at Southwestern Michigan College.
To date, 39 Cass County students have been awarded $500 scholarships. That's a total of $19,500.
There is also a scholarship endowment fund in the amount of $7,500.
Please join the Sheriff's Department for a great day of golf and fun to support this countywide community policing project.
This fundraiser is one of the many facets of the Cass County Community Policing program.
Other initiatives include blood drives, Community Awareness pancake breakfasts, neighborhood watch programs, township-based officers, Kid Care, and high-visibility address signs.
Space is limited to the first 36 teams.
