Niles 13-year-olds take part in BPA World Series

The Niles 13-year-old travel baseball team participated in the BPA 13U World Series in Cincinnati, Ohio last week.
Niles opened play against the Indiana Major state champion and eventual World Series winner, the Indiana Mustangs, and lost 15-6. Kyle Prak led Niles at the plate with two hits while Nick Fedore and Jeff Jurgonski each had a 2-RBI single.
Niles then turned around and lost to the Cincinnati Storm 7-6. Niles led 6-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning before the Storm rallied for the victory. Alex Welch and Jamie Simpson led the Vikings with two hits each.
Next up was the Buffalo (N.Y.) Road Dogs who defeated Niles 10-6. Simpson's three hits paced the Niles attack.
In the fourth game Niles blasted the Michigan City Wolves 13-2 in five innings. Dayton DeVoir hit a 2-run home run and an RBI double to lead Niles.
