NILES -- The Niles Main Street Initiative Promotions Committee is sponsoring a Big Brown Takedown Chicken BBQ on Wednesday, July 23, on the corner of Main and Second streets.
Tracy Wilson will be doing the cooking and volunteers from the Main Street Initiative will be assisting. The dinners include a leg quarter, baked beans, coleslaw, roll and ice cold lemonade.
Cost is $6 and dinners will be available between 5 and 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Niles Main Street Initiative.
Enjoy your dinner at Riverfront Park and the big band sounds of Lake Effect Jazz.
Tickets for preorders are on sale at Elizabeth Bradford Designs, 216 Main Street, Majerek's Hallmark Reader's World, 312 Main Street, and the Main Street Initiative Office, 210 Main Street.
Following the concert, take a stroll up Main Street and see the building restoration that is in progress. As the metal facades are removed, building fronts are tuck pointed, washed, windows replaced where necessary and brought into a safe, usable condition.
