NILES -- For the second time in less than a month, a public hearing to gather citizen input on a topless dance club proposed for Niles Township has been cancelled.
Niles Attorney Robert Feldman notified the Niles Township Board of Trustees through its attorney late Monday that his client, Teresa Kreighbaum of Elkhart, Ind., doing business as TSK Inc., is withdrawing her applications to transfer a liquor license and operate an adult business in Niles Township.
The hearing had been scheduled for Thursday night.
Niles Township Clerk Marge Durm-Hiatt read Feldman's letter at Monday night's board meeting.
In it, Feldman said the application was being withdrawn because of the "unavailability of construction documents from a registered professional."
He wrote he expects his client to refile those applications within the next two weeks.
Kreighbaum is proposing opening at 2622 S. 11th St., Niles, a bar and restaurant with entertainment in the form of burlesque shows with topless dancers.
