CASSOPOLIS -- The Cass County Building Authority and the Cass County Board of Commissioners are pleased to announce an open house at the new Law and Courts Building, 60296 M-62. It will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 3 to 8 p.m.
At the open house the public will be able to see the inside of the new building which has been under construction since May 2002.
It will house the Cass County courts, Friend of the Court, Prosecuting Attorney Victor Fitz's office, juvenile probation and District Court probation.
All of the court records will be kept in the new central file room.
The highlight of the open house will be public tours conducted by county staff.
County Administrator Terry Proctor said citizens who take the tour will be able to see behind the scenes of a modern court facility.
This will include some of the security features that have been designed into the building. Cake and punch will be served.
Citizens are encouraged to participate in the open house at any time between 3 and 8 p.m.
Parking will be very limited at 3 p.m., but should be more available between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
