Despite 17 first place finishes, Niles YMCA takes second

The Niles-Buchanan YMCA Gators captured 17 first place finishes at the Michiana YMCA on June 24 to take second place overall against Michiana YMCA, and Elkhart YMCA.
Laura Bucholz won second place in the Women's 11-12 year old age division in the 50-meter Fly, and a third place in the 50-meter Freestyle.
Ian Dippo won first place in both the 50-meter and 100-meter Freestyle events in the Men's 11-12 age group.
Allie Fuller won third place for the 25 meter Breaststroke in the Women's 8 and under category. She won second place in the 25-meter Freestyle, Women's 7 -8 year old category.
In the Men's 6 years and younger, Spencer Fuller won a second place in the 25-meter Backstroke, and a third place in the 25-meter Freestyle.
Taylor Fuller captured second place finishes in the 50 meter Fly, the 50-meter Breast stroke and the 100-meter Individual Medley in the Women's 9-10 year old category.
Jason Furst had third place finishes in the Men's age 8 and under 50-meter Freestyle, and the Men's 6 and Under 25-meter Backstroke, and a first place finish for Men's age 8 and Under 25-meter Freestyle.
Amanda Harlow competed in the Women's age 8 and under category, capturing a first place in the 50-meter Freestyle, and second place in both the 25-meter Breaststroke and 100-meter Individual Medley.
Emily Harlow earned first place finishes in the 50-meter Backstroke and the 50-meter Breaststroke and a second place in the 50-meter Freestyle in the Women's age 11-12 category.
Evan Harlow competed in the Men's 9-10 years of age category. He won second place in the 50-meter Fly and third place in the 50-meter Freestyle.
Bri King took home a fifth place finish in the Women's 8 and Under 50-meter Freestyle and a fourth place in the Women's 7-8 25-meter Freestyle.
In the Women's 11-12 year category, Lindsey McCarty won second place in the 50-meter Breaststroke, and first place in the 100-meter Individual Medley.
Emily Mills had first place finishes in each of her events. She swam the 8 and Under category 25-meter Fly, Women's 7-8 25-meter Backstroke, and the Women's age 8 and under 100-meter Individual Medley.
James Norris earned a fourth place in the Men's age 8 and Under 50-meter Freestyle, a third place in the Men's age 8 and Under 25-meter Backstroke, and a fourth place in the Men's age 6 and Under 25-meter Freestyle.
Bekah Polega competed in the Women's age 6 and Under category and won third place in the 25-meter Backstroke and the 25-meter Freestyle events.
Erin Polega won third place in the Women's age 7-8 category in the 25-meter Backstroke.
Competing in the Women's age 9-10 category, Sarah Polega won third place in both the 100-meter Freestyle and the 50-meter Backstroke and a fourth place finish in the 50-meter Freestyle.
TJ Polega took first place in both the 100-meter Freestyle and the 50-meter Freestyle and a second place in the 50-meter Freestyle in the Men's age 9-10 category.
First place finishes went to Michael Rattenbury, competing in the Men's age 11-12 category, in the 50-meter Fly and the 50-meter Breaststroke. Rattenbury also captured second place in the 50-meter Freestyle.
Scott Snyder swept his events in the Men's age 13-14 year old category, taking home first place finishes in the 100-meter Fly, 100-meter Backstroke, and 50-meter Freestyle.
