A traffic crash with minor injuries at 7:47 p.m. Friday, June 27, was reported by Dowagiac Police Chief Tom Atkinson.
Police officers were dispatched along with Dowagiac ambulance to the intersection of E. Division and W. Railroad streets. for a person in the roadway.
On arrival it was found that the victim had been the driver of a moped that collided with a pickup truck.
The moped, who was a juvenile with a moped license, received minor injuries and was taken by Dowagiac ambulance to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Police said the driver of the pickup was not injured.
Use of a helmet by the moped driver is credited with preventing serious injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The investigation is closed.
