Niles man arrested for assault

NILES -- A man was arrested in Niles Friday pending charges for alleged assault and battery.
John Antwon Wade, 19, 714 N. Fifth St., Niles was arrested after officers were dispatched for a domestic disturbance in progress, the police report said.
Wade had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, who he also allegedly has a three-and-a-half-year-old son with.
Officers observed Wade walking down the street and subsequently arrested him.
Wade was lodged at the Niles City jail for domestic violence.
In other police reports:
Lafreem Keith Walker, 34, 208 Oak St., Buchanan, was arrested, booked and lodged for alleged possession of crack-cocaine and a vehicle theft warrant out of Buchanan City Police Department.
Walker was given a $10,000 bond for the vehicle theft and no bond for the possession of crack-cocaine.
Angelina Hernandez, 27, and Geraldo Gonzalez Olvera, 26, both 411 N. Main St., Goshen, were arrested after they had been fighting in the front yard of 1221 Sycamore St., in Niles.
Hernandez was transported to Niles Police Department where she arranged a $100 bond and was released.
Gonzalez Olvera was too intoxicated to be fingerprinted and was put in a cell and booked at a later time.
Thomas Earl Kollars Jr., 25, 415 N 10th St. Niles, was arrested after an officer was informed someone was allegedly shooting off fireworks at the corner of 10th and Sycamore streets.
When police arrived, Kollars was allegedly shooting off the fireworks.
Kollars was arrested and transported to the Niles Police Department where he was booked and lodged.
Bond was set at $200.
The police report said alcohol was involved in the incident.
