ST. JOSEPH -- Berrien County authorities arrested two South Bend, Ind., men Tuesday at M-51 and Fulkerson in Niles Township for alleged delivery of crack cocaine.
Lt. Keith Hafer said Larry O. Aldridge, 24, of 24311 Fillmore Road, South Bend, and Zenicko Quentin Williams, 30, of 1143 E. Colfax, South Bend, have been under investigation for transporting crack cocaine from South Bend to sell to persons in the Niles area.
On June 11 at 6 p.m., Berrien County narcotics officers observed the two suspects deliver crack cocaine to a person in a gas station parking lot.
Officers seized the crack cocaine after following the two suspects south on M-51 toward the state line.
Officers stopped the suspects and arrested both of them for delivery of crack cocaine, second offense, and lodged them in Berrien County Jail pending arraignment.
In addition to the crack cocaine, Hafer reported, officers seized $445 in cash and a 2000 Dodge Intrepid under civil forfeiture.
In an unrelated matter in Niles, a narcotics search warrant was executed at 9 p.m. June 11 by the Berrien County Sheriff's Department road patrol and Niles Police Department at the lower apartment at 1003 Regent.
Hafer said the residence had been under investigation for two weeks as a result of numerous complaints about drug trafficking at that address. Officers seized crack cocaine, marijuana and other evidence.
The resident, Kristine Michele Groves, 38, was lodged in the Berrien County Jail pending arraignment on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana and maintaining a drug house.
A second person found in the apartment, Willie B. Roscoe, 65, of 1343 Wayne St., Niles, was ticketed for the charge of being an inmate at a disorderly house and released.
