Police investigating overnight break ins

NILES -- Niles City Police Department is currently investigating two recent break-ins.
Capt. Jim Merriman said this morning that burglars brok into Concord Custom Cleaners, 920 E. Main St., sometime overnight.
He said police are also investigating a second break-in on South Eleventh Street this morning.
No other information was available at press time today.
In other police reports:
Stephen Charles Baker, 32, 700 Platt St., Apt. No 43 B, Niles, was arrested in the parking lot at the east side entrance of the River Front square parking lot, the police report said.
Baker's car was damaged and another vehicle allegedly blocked Baker's way, hindering his ability to leave the premises.
Baker allegedly told the attending officer he lost control of the vehicle in the parking lot and hit a pole and the SOS building.
He allegedly added he had been drinking prior to the accident. Baker was lodged at Niles Police Department with a $500 bond.
Nathan Ray Fitz, 21, 980 S. 15th St., Apt No 5, Niles., was arrested after police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Broadway and Eight streets, the police report said. Upon searching the vehicle, officers allegedly found a small amount of marijuana. Fitz was transported to the Niles Police Department where he was booked and lodged with a $200 bond.
