Niles wins pair of games at St. Joseph Invitational

The Niles varsity baseball team went 2-1 at the powerful St. Joseph Invitational on Saturday.
The Vikings' lone loss came at the hands of eventual champion Decatur.
The Raiders, the defending Division 4 state champions, edged the Vikings, 3-2.
Niles went on to defeat Lansing Sexton 12-0 in five innings and then defeated Bay City Central, 5-2.
Brooks Bonner was the winning pitcher against Lansing Sexton, while Ryne Dowling picked up the victory against Bay City Central.
John Kessick took the loss against the Raiders.
Kessick had a double to lead Niles offensively against Decatur, while Josh Henry, Casey Hood and Cory Coquillard all had doubles against Lansing.
Dowling and Coquillard had doubles against Bay City.
