NILES -- A man was arrested in Niles Monday for alleged possession of Marijuana, said Niles City Police reports.
Timothy Lee Coleman, 20, 1209 N. Seventh St., was arrested after officers were dispatched to 735 Maple St., for an unknown disturbance. Upon arrival, the officers saw a couple of unknown subjects allegedly run into the resident on Maple Street, while one man was standing on the steps as the officers arrived.
The officers then made contact with Coleman. Officers have been dispatched to this location before for persons allegedly fighting and causing disturbance, police reports said. One of the attending officers personally responded to the same location for an incident involving a male with a gun approximately one month ago.
Coleman was allegedly asked to put his hands on his head for a "pat down." The officers said in their report they could smell an odor of fresh marijuana coming from Coleman. Officers allegedly found him in possession of marijuana. He was placed under arrest pending charges. The police report said Coleman was transported to the Niles Police Department and lodged with a $200 bond.
Coleman was also issued a citation for being a minor in consumption of alcohol, the police report said.
