The Lakeland Conference was well represented at Friday's Division 3 Regional meet held at Constantine High School.
Berrien Springs won the boys' meet while Edwardsburg and Brandywine finished second and third, respectively, in the girls' meet.
Brandywine also had a pair of athletes qualify for the state finals, to be held at Comstock Park High School on Saturday, May 31.
Seniors Lacey Hutchings and Nikki Smith will be making the trip to Comstock Park as both came away with victories at Friday's event.
For the second straight year Hutchings claimed first place in the shot put. Her winning distance of 37-3.25 broke her own school record. She also placed third in the discus with a toss of 100-1. She qualified for the finals in the shot put only.
Smith qualifed for the finals in two events--the high jump and the 300-meter hurdles. She cleared 4-11 to finish second in the high jump and ran a time of 51.4 to take first place in the 300 hurdles. Smith also finished fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.6 and fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.9.
Buchanan's Quinton Buish fihished third in the high jump with a leap of 6-1, missing the qualifying height by one inch. He also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.72.
Buchanan's Rodney Tembo finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:34.10.
Adrianne Spenner of Buchanan took fifth place in the 100-meter low hurdles with a time of 18.2.
