Lady Eddies split with Bees; win LMC invite

The Edwardsburg varsity softball team split a pair of non-league contests with Bridgman on Monday.
The Lady Eddies were blanked, 6-0, in the opening game, but rallied to win the nightcap, 11-1 in five innings.
Shana Stoops took the loss in the first game. The Lady Eddies had just four hits. Stoops had two of them, including a double.
Jessica Simpson was the winning pitcher in the nightcap. Edwardsburg pounded out 10 hits, including a single and a double by Stoops. Simpson added two hits and Jessica Shotwell a double.
The Lady Eddies are now 8-18 overall.

LMC Invitational
The Lady Eddies captured the Lake Michigan Catholic Invitational on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over the host Lady Lakers.
Edwardsburg reached the championship game with a 14-3 win over Galesburg.
Stoops took the win in the first game.
The Lady Eddies finished with 11 hits, including two each by Stoops and Kelli Kretchman. Jamie Duncan and Jill Prusinski added a double and a triple respectively.
In the championship game Simpson was the victor in the circle for Edwardsburg.
Edwardsburg had seven hits against LMC, led by Shotwell's single and a double. Sam Fritsche also had two hits.
