Baseball leagues off to exciting start

Evan Hartman led the Blue Jays with a triple and two singles while David Tharp added a double and two singles. Michael Pancoast, Adam Riffel, Alexander Walters, Brock Hartline and Jamar Sanders each had three singles.
Tyrin Libertowski led the Giants with two singles.

Red Sox….14
Yankees….10
Caleb Carpenter earned the pitching victory for the Red Sox with six strikeouts and only two hits allowed. Anthony Gladded took the loss for the Yankees.
Nick Davis led the Red Sox at the plate with two home runs and five RBIs. Jay Wiemuth paced the Yankees with a double and two singles for two RBIs. Gladded added two singles and two RBIs.
Braves…….11
White Sox….1
Mike Simpson struck out 12 batters on his way to the pitching victory for the Braves. David Gardner took the loss for the White Sox.
Simpson also led the Braves at the plate with a three-run homer. Asaad Ali also hit a two-run homer for the Braves.

Red Sox….0
Andrew Brawley earned the pitching victory with seven strikeouts and just two hits allowed. Dashawn Curtis took the loss for the Red Sox despite fanning six batters.
Brawley helped his own cause with a home run, a double and a single for the Braves. Mike Simpson added a home run and a single for the Braves.
Pirates………7
White Sox….3
Bubba Banicki struck out nine batters on his way to the pitching victory for the Pirates. Nicholas Musser took the loss for the White Sox.
William Powers paced the Pirates with two singles while Colin Leonard went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Sox.
