Bobcats take third in Wildcat tourney

For the first time this season the Brandywine softball team did not win a tournament.
The Bobcats suffered a 1-0 loss to host Mattawan in the Wildcat Invitational and had to settle for a spot in the consolation game where they beat Coloma 6-3.
Brandywine, now 20-2 on the year, beat Schoolcraft 2-0 before falling to Mattawan.
The Bobcats then beat Paw Paw 7-1 to finish second in their pool.
Nicki McGowen earned two pitching victories and took one loss on the day. She is now 19-2 for the season.
Brittany Bennett earned her first victory with the decision over Paw Paw and is now 1-0.
Ashley Antus doubled against Paw Paw and against Coloma. Nakisha Washington hit a home run and a double against Coloma.
The Bobcats will have a pair of rematches with the Comets today as they host Coloma for a Lakeland Conference doubleheader at 4 p.m. Brandywine is currently unbeaten in Lakeland Conference play.
