Pamida on M-51 South Wednesday morning presented checks for $3,000 to Cass County United Way and $500 to Dowagiac Public Library.
Pamida's charitable golf outing in June 2002 raised $685,950 to be used towards the Pamida Foundation's goal of making a difference in 223 communities Pamida serves.
Pamida is a subsidiary of ShopKo Stores Inc., a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., operating 364 retail stores in 23 states, primarily in the Midwest, Western Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions.
Pamida operations, headquartered in Omaha, Neb., include 223 discount stores located in smaller, rural communities.
There are 141 specialty discount stores operating under the ShopKo name in mid-sized and larger cities.
