Niles wins West Division golf title, Dowagiac second

For the second consecutive year the Niles golf team has won the Big-16 Conference West Division title.
The Lady Vikings laid claim to the Big-16 Conference West Division golf championship Wednesday despite finishing third in the jamboree hosted by St. Joseph.
The Lady Vikings won the jamboree with a team total of 241. Dowagiac was second with a 265, while the Lady Bears finished third with a score of 275.
Niles won the division title with 15 points. Dowagiac was second with 12 points and St. Joseph third with nine points. Benton Harbor finished fourth.
On Wednesday the Chieftains were led by Erin Ausra's 63. Elizabeth Grady shot 65 for Dowagiac, which also got a 68 from Tiffany Ferrier and a 69 from Megan Wheeler.
Also playing on Wednesday were Alicia Maxey and Jessy Opera, both of whom shot 70.
Wheeler and Ausra were both second team All-Division selections as they finished eighth and ninth in the division. Maxey placed 12th.
