Buchanan sweeps two from Cassopolis

Buchanan picked up its first Lakeland Conference victories of the season Friday as it swept a league baseball doubleheader with Cassopolis.
The Bucks, now 5-8 overall and 2-4 in Lakeland play, beat the host Rangers 7-4 and 6-2. Cassopolis is now 0-10 overall and 0-3 in the league.
Brandon Godsey carried the Bucks in the opening game with the complete game pitching victory and a double.
Tim Broussard led Cassopolis at the plate with a triple. Dave Rietveld added a double while Dave Solloway took the pitching loss for the Rangers.
Kyle Tracey earned the pitching victory for Buchanan in the nightcap. P.J. Pollock hit a double to lead the Bucks' hitting attack.
Brent Gadacz took the loss for Cassopolis.
The Bucks return to action today at Bangor.
