The Niles track and field teams swept a pair of non-conference dual meets with Edwardsburg Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Vikings edged the Eddies 78.5-73.5 while the Niles boys beat Edwardsburg 96.5-55.
In the girls' meet, Niles won eight events including the 4×100-meter and 4×400-meter relays. Individual winners for the Niles girls included Jessica Harrison with a leap of 4-7 in the high jump, Amanda Britton with a leap of 13-8.5 in the long jump, Tasha Webster with a time of 13.53 in the 100-meter dash, Rachael Storm in the 1,600-meter run, Elle Glueckert with a time of 2:55.60 in the 800-meter run and Shay Fultz with a time of 29.00 in the 200-meter dash.
The Niles boys won 14 of the 16 events including all four relay races. Karyce Pulliam, James Edwards and Jason Todd each won two events for the Vikings. Pulliam won the high jump with a leap of 5-9 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.33. Pulliam also finished second in the 100-meter dash, just .06 second behind teammate Lonnie Jones. Edwards won the shot with a toss of 41-1 and the discus with a toss of 126-4.5. Jason Todd won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.80 and the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:54.93. He also finished second in the 1,600-meter run and fourth in the 100-meter dash.
Other winners for the Vikings included Otis West with a leap of 18-11 in the long jump, Lonnie Jones with a time of 11.62 in the 100-meter dash, Logan Todd with a time of 5:00.70 in the 1,600-meter run and Diamond King with a time of 41.84 in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.
The Niles track and field teams return to action Wednesday when they host a dual meet at 4 p.m.
