The Dowagiac varsity tennis team could not follow up on its victory Wednesday afternoon over Niles as it was blanked by host St. Joseph, 8-0.
The host Bears dropped only eight games in winning the Big-16 Conference West Division match, which was being made up from a rain out on Tuesday.
The Chieftains are now 1-4 on the season. Dowagiac will take the weekend off before resuming its match against Eau Claire on Monday. The original match was halted by rain.
