After having its last two matches rain shortened and rained out, the Dowagiac varsity tennis team braved cold and windy conditions to take on visiting Edwardsburg Tuesday afternoon.
The Eddies defeated Dowagiac 7-1 in non-conference match play.
Tim Nisonger picked up the lone victory for the Chieftains as he defeated Nathan Gabbard at No. 4 singles, 6-1 and 6-1.
Dowagiac will make up Tuesday's Big-16 Conference West Division match with St. Joseph on Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. Dowagiac will conclude its match with Eau Claire, which was rained out last week, on Monday, April 28.
