Niles shuts out Bridgman Bees for first victory

The Niles tennis team broke into the win column for the first time this season with an 8-0 win over visiting Bridgman Monday afternoon.
The Vikings swept all eight matches, winning No. 4 singles and No. 4 doubles by forfeit.
Niles No. 1 singles player Matt Molnar had to battle for his victory over Jan Sollwedel. Molnar ended up with a 7-6 (0), 7-5 win.
Things weren't easy for the Niles No. 1 doubles team of Colin Smith and Anthony Kessler, who beat Joe Chappell and Ryan Wolf 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (5).
Niles returns to action Wednesday at Dowagiac for a Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference West Division match.
