The Buchanan team rolled to a 14-5 victory over Bloomingdale in the first game at the Lawton Invitational Saturday but couldn't get over the hump against Lake Michigan Catholic in the second game.
The Lakers jumped out to an early lead and held off the Bucks for a 9-8 victory.
Buchanan, now 3-7 on the year, got a three-run homer from Eric Brelowski in the first game. Kyle Tracey also went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored three runs.
Brandon Godsey improved to 2-1 on the mound in the first game. He struck out 14 on his way to the complete game victory.
Tracey took the loss for the Bucks in the second game, falling to 0-2.
Godsey doubled and Brelowski was 2-for-4 with three RBIs but it wasn't enough to overcome LMC's early lead.
Buchanan travels to River Valley Tuesday afternoon for a Lakeland Conference doubleheader.
