NILES -- Niles High School senior Nick Davis has chosen DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., to further his education and football careers.
Davis is the second Niles senior to choose to attend DaPauw, joining classmate Andy Brandstatter.
Davis, a running back on the 2003 Niles varsity team and a defensive back on the 2002 squad, helped the Vikings reach the playoffs two straight years.
Davis, who owns a grade point average of better than 3.0, will likely be best remembered for his performance in the opening game of the 2003 season when he rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns as Niles beat Portage Northern 21-19.
DePauw is an NCAA Division III school. The Tigers are a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and finished the 2002 season with an overall record of 7-3 and league mark of 5-1. Nick Mourouzis is the head coach. DePauw will play at Hope College on Sept. 13, 2003.
