NILES -- All 80 minutes were played, but Friday night's high school soccer game between Brandywine and Buchanan was ultimately decided after just 13:11 of play.
That's when the only goal of the game was scored and gave host Brandywine the 1-0 victory over local rival Buchanan.
Emily Whitney took a shot from the left wing and put the ball in the upper right corner of the goal, out of reach of Buchanan goalkeeper Brittany Harrington for the game's lone score.
Harrington finished with two saves as Brandywine managed six shots on goal. Buchanan took five shots on goal and Brandywine goalkeepr Judy Schlutt finished with four saves. Both teams had one corner kick.
Brandywine hosts Dowagiac Wednesday and Buchanan travels to Paw Paw Monday.
