Dowagiac swept by Valley

The Dowagiac varsity baseball team suffered its first doubleheader sweep of the season on Thursday in Three Oaks.
River Valley (4-1) took the opening game from the Chieftains (5-3), 3-1. The Mustangs then won the nightcap, 6-3.
Davey Moran and Jason McIntyre both suffered the first losses of the season on Thursday.
Moran worked seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits with six strikeouts. McIntyre worked seven innings as well, allowing three earned runs on five hits.
Offensively Dowagiac had just one hit in the first game and three hits in the second game.
Jeff Cooper had the lone hit in the opener. Jonathan Bartee went 2-for-4 in the nightcap.
