Thomas Harold Knox, 74, of Vandalia, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo.

WagnerlogoThomas was born March 22, 1939 in Elkhart, Ind. to Franklin and Ruth (Konneck) Knox.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Donald Knox, two brothers, Franklin James Knox and William George Knox; and his longtime companion, Sherry Peak.

Tom enjoyed life, especially fishing. He always had a good story to tell. Tom was always willing to help someone, but would never ask for anything for himself. Tom was a painter and played a part in painting the Golden Gate Bridge in the 1960s

Thomas will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Diane Ferguson of Hot Springs, Ark.; one granddaughter, Karmen (James) Howard of Charleston, Ark.; one sister Arlene Marie Thompson of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, John E. Knox of South Bend, Ind. and Gerald E. (Tammy) Knox of Mishawaka, Ind.; one sister in law, Nadine A. Knox of Mishawaka; and a special cousin Lucille Knox of Mishawaka.

The family is especially grateful to Heartland Rehabilitation of Three Rivers.

The family will observe a private remembrance.
