Cass County burglary suspects caught

Police have in custody two people believed to be responsible for a recent string of more than 10 burglaries in Cass County.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that St. Joseph County Sheriff’s officers apprehended the subjects during a burglary in progress near North Liberty, Ind., at approximately 10:30 a.m. today.

The suspects were driving a silver sedan with an Indiana temporary license plate. The vehicle matched the description of the suspect vehicle in the Cass County burglaries.

A joint investigation conducted by St. Joseph and Cass County detectives has led to information and evidence that implicates the two individuals in over 10 burglaries within Cass County since Sept. 3. The suspects are in custody in St. Joseph County, Ind. One of the subjects arrested is a juvenile so his name cannot be released. The name of the other suspect will be released once he is extradited and arraigned in Michigan.
