Ruth’s life began on May 12, 1928 in Sawyer, the daughter of Erdmand and Bessie (Hartline) Granke.

She was a homemaker who could never sit idle. Ruth loved to bake, cook and crochet. Outside, she took great pride in her yard and was a hard worker.

Her loving family includes three children Dale (Glenda) Orminston of Dowagiac, Margie (Mark) Brock of Coldwater and Clyde Orminston of Dowagiac; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great –great-grandchildren, brothers Ernie (Pat) Granke of Sawyer and Eugene Granke of Chicago.

Ruth passed away Saturday June 1, 2013 at the Timbers of Cass County. She is preceded in death by brothers Bert and Julius Granke and daughter in law Sharon Orminston.

Her family will gather with friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her service will begin at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Justin Shepard of Michiana Church of Christ. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
