Best of Show on a wet, overcast 20th annual Dowagiac Rod and Roll Classic Auto Show Saturday went to Andy Badner of Cassopolis for his red 1967 Ford Fairlane.

Miss Dowagiac Katie Haneberg selected a 1967 Volkswagen deluxe station wagon entered by Susie Lucas from Allegan for the first Queen’s Choice trophy.

Lining up from 127 vehicles for the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce’s Parade of Winners for the other trophies to 28 top vote-getters were:
• Bill Cayo, Watervliet, a 1957 Chevy pickup.
• John and Flo Hunt, Paw Paw, a 1941 Studebaker President sedan.
• Dick Bragagnini, Schoolcraft, a 1961 Chevy Corvette.
• Scott Jurgenson, Dowagiac, a 1969 Chevy Camaro.
• John Jaskowiak, South Bend, Ind., a 1974 Chevy Camaro.
• Mary Ann Jaynes, Niles, a 1966 Pontiac GTO.
• Robbie Ferrier, Dowagiac, a 1966 Chevy pickup.
• Pat and Pam Williams, Elkhart, Ind., a 1956 Chevy Bel Air.
• Tom Meiser, Dowagiac, a custom-built 1981 Kawasaki CSR 650 motorcycle.
• Larry Pascoe, St. Joseph, a 1948 Ford Anglia.
• Jim Smith, Dowagiac, a 1950 Mercury hardtop owned by John Hrycko.
• Archie Barkman, Niles, a 1965 Chevy Corvette.
• Barry Witters, Granger, Ind., a 1931 Chevy five-passenger coupe.
• Randy Westbrook, Coloma, a 1959 Chevy Corvette.
• Steve Lutes, Dowagiac, a 1954 Chevy delivery sedan.

• Jim Moore, Cassopolis, a 1933 Chevy stake truck.

Rod and Roll was organized by Ed and Sue Kazlauskas, owners of Jim D.’s Body Shop and The Marshall Shoppe, and Curt and Debbie Rohdy, owners of John and Curt’s Brake and  Alignment, who thanked Scott Jurgenson, Ron Lavell, Jimmy Kazlauskas, Chad Rohdy, Steve Bell, Art Springsteen, Jim Smith, Tom Meiser and Miss Dowagiac Katie Haneberg and her court, First Runner-up Taylor Gross, Second Runner-up Alyse Pellow and Miss Congeniality Marissa Tidey for their assistance.

Sixteen businesses underwrote trophies: Beeson Street Bar and Grill, Wayne Browning/Snap-On Tools, Butler Tree Farm and Campground, Cass Auto Supply, Chet Nichols Inc. Auto Parts, Dominion Deals on Wheels, John and Curt’s Brake and Alignment, Dowagiac Auto Service, Flint’s Auto Repair, Jim D’s Body Shop, Laurie Anne’s, R&D Sewer and Drain Cleaning, Steinman’s Shell, Sunray Restorations and Saylor’s Front Street Pizzeria.

The first 125 auto owners to register for the show received dash plaques sponsored by Drs. Charles Burling and Jon Gillesby, JAC Custom Pouches Inc. and True’s Towing and Recovery.

Collector’s coffee mugs were sponsored by Imperial Furniture, Keystone Automotive, Mahar Insurance, Ridge/Napa Auto Parts and the Wounded Minnow Saloon.

Nineteen businesses underwrote the cost of T-shirts presented to the first 125 auto owners to register for the show.
