Niles High spring choir concert Thursday

The Niles High School Choir will perform its spring concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at the high school auditorium.

Cost is $3 with all proceeds supporting cancer research through the Niles High School Relay for Life event.

It will also be the final performance for retiring piano accompanist and cancer survivor Judy Earnst.

The spring choir will feature the high school’s Women’s Choir, Concert Choir, Counterpoints and the Niles New Tech Glee Club.

The Women’s Choir will perform Audrey Snyder’s “A New Day,” Phil Spector’s “Chapel of Love,” Amy Bernon’s “She Sings” and Claude-Michel Schonberg’s “On My Own.”

The Glee Club will perform Troxel and Ellis’ “Come Softly To Me,” Diana Warren’s “There You’ll Be,” and Madara and White’s “One, Two, Three.”

The Concert Choir will perform Geoff Wilcken’s “Sing All,” Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “As if we Never Said Goodbye,” John Lennon’s “Imagine,” the African American Spiritual “The Old Ark’s A-Moverin’” and David Brunner’s “O Music.”

Stephanie Rickords will be the soloist for “Imagine,” while Elena GilMarin will be cellist for “O Music.”

Counterpoints will perform Albert Hammond’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” Wilder and Zippel’s “True to Your Heart,” Stevie Nicks’ “Dreams” and Christine McVie’s “Don’t Stop.”

The choirs will combine for a special performance of “For Good” for the musical, “Wicked.”
