Kidney Foundation honors Lori

The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) will host two events May 1 that will give community members the opportunity to meet with their district’s legislators and advocate for their legislators’ support of important diabetes and kidney disease programs.
The Champion of Hope Tribute Dinner honors individuals who have helped make Michigan a healthier place in the last year. This year’s honorees include Rep. Matt Lori of Constantine, District 59, in addition to Sen. Vincent Gregory of Southfield, District 35.
The NKFM will also present the Innovations in Health Care Awards for innovative programs in the areas of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and kidney disease.
The event will take place at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing.
Prior to this event will be the 2012 Diabetes & Kidney Advocacy Day at the Radisson Hotel in Lansing.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about diabetes and kidney disease programs in Michigan and to speak with their district’s state legislators to support these vital programs.
