Meet The Spartans Tuesday in East Lansing

EAST LANSING — Michigan State football fans of all ages are invited to attend the 10th Annual Meet The Spartans Tuesday in downtown East Lansing.

The event, sponsored by the East Lansing Downtown Management Board, will run from 5:15 until 7:25 p.m.

It marks the third-straight year the event will be held in downtown East Lansing. Sixth-year Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and members of the 2012 football team will be available for autographs under tents positioned in parking lots on Albert Avenue, between Abbot Road and MAC Avenue.

The format has changed slightly from previous years, as offensive players will be available for autographs from approximately 5:15 until 6:15 p.m. and defensive players from approximately 6:25 until 7:25 p.m. Dantonio, who will be available for autographs from 5:15 until 7:25 p.m., will take a brief break at 6:15 to address the crowd and to introduce members of the senior class.

The MSU cheerleaders and dance team will help distribute free schedule posters and assist in face painting. Children also will have the opportunity to meet Sparty and pose for photos with the popular mascot. Fans also will have the chance to pose for pictures with MSU’s 2011 Big Ten Legends Division Championship and 2012 Outback Bowl Championship trophies.

Due to time constraints, fans are limited to one autographed item per person and requests for photos with players and/or Coach Dantonio cannot be accommodated.
