A Marcellus woman pleaded guilty Monday to embezzling more than $17,000 from the Marcellus Fire Department.

Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz said Nicole Olsen, 33, pleaded guilty to embezzlement over $1,000, a crime that carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 or three times the amount embezzled, whichever is greater.

The plea requires Olsen to make restitution in the amount of $17,051 and includes a provision of no further charges arising from the incident.

Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 3 in front of Cass County Circuit Court Judge Michael Dodge.
