The Lake Michigan College Theatre Department will host a Dance Day for area students from 9 a.m. to noon Friday May 1.

The workshop is open to all area high school and college students. Guests will be able to participate in free dance master class workshops and receive instruction in various genres of dance including ballet, musical theatre, jazz, and contemporary. After the workshops there will be a question and answer period, and performances by Chicago’s Tapestry Dance Company, the Berrien County Dancers, and Lake Michigan College dance students.

Event organizers hope to raise public awareness the cultural, educational, and career opportunities available within the profession of dancing.

Contact the Performing Arts Department at (269) 927-8876 by April 24 for a reservation. Dance Day will take place in the Dance/Drama Room F1117 at the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center at 2755 E. Napier Ave. in Benton Harbor.
