Her parents survive. She was preceded in death by one nephew, Emerson Haines III.

Linda was a born again Christian who held a variety of offices within the church, as well as being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her daughter and grandson.

Linda will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (John) King of Elkhart, one grandson, Brenden King of Elkhart; her parents, Leo and Priscilla (Hill) Lawson of Cassopolis; one sister, Lois (Emerson) Haines of Niles; one brother, Gordon (Sharon) Lawson of Warsaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will gather Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis, with the Reverend Russell Haines officiating. Ms. Vaughn will be laid to rest in Calvin Community Cemetery, Calvin Township.

She was previously employed as a lab tech at Whitehall and also worked for the Elkhart Community School System.

Linda was not afraid to die, because she knew where she was going. The family is at peace with knowing God’s word to us — to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Rest now, dear daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt — we all will see you again one day soon. Love, your family.
