The Ladies Library Association received monetary contributions to be directed to Kay Gray in honor of her 25 years of service to the Dowagiac library.

Most of the donors of this substantial gift gathered at a special reception for Mrs. Gray that was held April 18.

But since contributions just kept rolling in for her gift, the LLA decided to present the gift certificate at its June meeting.

Kay Gray continues to be a highly respected and much beloved library professional who, it is hoped, will stay with Dowagiac District Library for many years to come. Her friends and colleagues showered her with gifts and accolades at the reception and continued to fete her with the contributions received by the LLA several months after.

At the same meeting, planning took place for the bi-annual LLA book sale which will take place this summer during the Summer in the City festivities, Thursday, July 29-30 through Aug. 1 at Dowagiac District Library, 211 Commercial St.

Sale of used books, magazines, and media begins each day when the library opens at 9 a.m.
