Kim H. “Mik” Deming, 51, of Mishawaka, died Monday, March 4, 2013 in his residence.

Kim was born June 14, 1961, in Niles to Wesley and Barbara (Pence) Deming. He was preceded in death by his father.

Kim was a talented artist who was proud of his Cree heritage and enjoyed participating in pow-wows. He was passionate about creating Native American artifacts, many of which were purchased and displayed locally.

Mik will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Pence) Deming of Cassopolis; two sisters, Kristina Deming, of Greenfield, Ind., Kolleen Hurt of Clearwater, Fla.; two brothers, Kevin Deming, of South Bend, Kirk (Amelia) Deming, of Clearwater, Fla.; one niece, Stephanie Williams; and five nephews, Branden Benson, John Paul Deming, Christopher Deming, Dylan Deming and Roman Deming.

Kim’s family will observe a private remembrance.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray final expenses.
