Police seek hit-and-run driver

Police are looking for the driver of a sport utility vehicle that reportedly struck a pedestrian on Hollywood Road in Berrien Springs Friday morning.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that around 7:42 a.m., Robert Anthony O’Connor, 35, of Berrien Springs, was walking south on Hollywood Road when he was hit by an SUV approximately a half-mile north of Rockey Weed Road.

The SUV is possibly an orange- or copper-colored Ford. It was last seen heading south on Hollywood Road toward Rockey Weed Road.

Police are asking for any help from citizens who may have been in the area on or about this time and may have seen something. Anyone with information should call (269) 983-7141 ext. 7048.

O’Connor was transported to Lakeland in St. Joseph with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
