Helen Osterman, 92

Died: Oct. 20, 2012

Helen “Deonise” Osterman, 92, Michigan City, Ind., passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at 4:15 p.m. surrounded by her loving family at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, James and Debbie Osterman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at 10 a.m. CST in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1237 E. Coolspring Ave., Michigan City with Dr. Matthew Becker officiating.

Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, Michigan at 1:30 p.m. CST.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. CST today at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City and from 9 a.m. CST till the time of service Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She was born Aug. 18, 1920, in Bridgman to the late Raymond and Louise (Shermak) Post. On Sept. 19, 1942, in Benton Harbor, she married Emanuel S. Osterman who preceded her on Feb. 17, 2005.

Surviving are two sons, James (Debbie) Osterman of Michigan City, Indiana, Mike Osterman of New Port Richey, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Kim Jones, Ashlee Osterman, Zara Osterman, Zoann Osterman, Lisa White, Brian Herndon, David Osterman and Jeremy Osterman;  five great-grandchildren, Shelby Herndon, Cameron Jones, Justin McClaran, Jack White and Christopher Mowls; a sister, Donna Klug of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her son, Greg Osterman, and brothers, Duane and Robert Post.

Mrs. Osterman was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Michigan City.

Mrs. Osterman had spent the past 14 years in New Port Richey, Fla., where she was very active in the Faith Lutheran Church, New Port Richey, Fla.
