Santa Claus coming to Fernwood

Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve traditionally has been a place to visit Santa during the holidays.

Fernwood has many opportunities to see Santa this December, as the bearded bringer of gifts will be at the nature preserve every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m.

For a special treat, bring the family to enjoy breakfast with the jolly old elf on Saturdays, Dec. 1, 8, and 15, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., as chef Tim Carrigan prepares a breakfast buffet. Reservations must be made by the Friday before the breakfast.

Santa will tell stories, take gift ideas and give a candy cane to each child.

During the Breakfast with Santa, kids can make a craft with one of his elves and color a picture. Kids that come on Saturdays and Sundays through December 22, from 1 to 4 p.m., can sign the naughty and nice list, and drop in the classroom to make a holiday craft. These are free with paid Fernwood admission.
