Miss/Mr. Edwardsburg pageant Saturday

The Miss/Mr. Edwardsburg Scholarship Pageant and Youth Program’s 2012 pageant will be Saturday afternoon at the Edwardsburg Performing Arts Center.

The theme of the pageant will be Snow White. The pageant begins at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or by calling (574) 215-4355.

There are a total of 27 contestants competing in a variety of divisions — Miss Edwardsburg, Miss Teen Edwardsburg, Miss Pre-Teen Edwardsburg, Mr. Pre-Teen Edwardsburg, Princesses of Edwardsburg and Prince of Edwardsburg.

The Miss/Mr. Edwardsburg Scholarship Pageant and Youth Program helps assist in individual social development and leadership qualities, according to pageant officials. The pageant’s philosophy is that “everyone is a winner.” Each participant will have new experiences, develop new friendships and become aware of their potential.

“We encourage that the youth of Edwardsburg inquire to get involved in this great program,” according to the pageant committee. “These courts learn a lot about giving back to our community and giving selflessly. They visit places like the Capital Building in Lansing, local nursing homes, and of course, get to build and ride on the float in local parades and much more.”

The program is open to kids ages 5 to 20 with four divisions of contestants. The pageant awards scholarships as well. For more information, visit www.missedwardsburgpageant.com.
