February marked the 64th year that the American Dental Association (ADA) has celebrated children’s oral health.

National Children’s Dental Health Month, which began in 1950, gives the ADA and partner organizations and agencies the opportunity to focus efforts on improving oral health for all children.

Locally, the Cassopolis Family Clinic donated nearly 1,000 dental packs for students of the Cassopolis Public School System. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and age-appropriate educational materials were delivered to Squires, Sam Adams and Ross Beatty Jr./Sr. High Schools for distribution to all students.

“We believe that good oral healthcare is just as important as medical care,” Mary Middleton, Executive Director, Cassopolis Family Clinic Network said. “In fact, they are equally important to maintain good health.”

This is the fifth year of the CFCN oral health outreach project.
