Clarence “Lee” Boone, 84

Clarence “Lee” Boone, 84, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest on May 8, 2013 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center in South Bend, Ind. after a lengthy illness. Lee was born Dec. 20, 1928 in North Liberty, Ind. the son of Edward E. Boone and Myrtle E. (Milster) Boone. He graduated from North Liberty High School, the class of 1946.

On May 30, 1953 in Angola, Ind., Lee married Norma C. Boisselier, they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary later this month. Lee and Norma have lived in Edwardsburg for the past 60 years, coming from the North Liberty area. Norma survives Lee along with their son Roy “Dan” (Jackie) Boone, also of Edwardsburg. Family that have preceded Lee in death are his parents and his siblings: Woody, Forest, Lawrence, Olive, Gertie, Mable, and Clara.

Lee worked as a Die Setter for Bendix, later known as Allied Signal, then later he worked assembling fuel systems. Lee was a member of the Edwardsburg American Legion, Edwardsburg Golden Agers, The Edwardsburg Historical Museum, The Edwardsburg Snowmobile Club, and the Hope United Methodist Church. Lee and Norma loved to travel and RV in their spare time.

Visitation was Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Road, Edwardsburg. The Service of Remembrance was Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11 a.m., at the church where family and friends may gather for one hour before the service. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Reese, pastor of the church. Burial will be at the Adamsville Cemetery, where the U.S. Army Honor Guard, will play taps and fold the US flag. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Hope United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 624, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0624.

Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
