City preparing for COA

Bid documents are out the door for resurfacing the parking lot between the Cass County Council on Aging and City Hall, as well as development of a parking lot and green space at the former fire station location behind City Hall.
Bids will be opened Feb. 21, giving engineers and staff time to review the bids before the March 12 city council meeting, according to City Manager Kevin Anderson.
In preparation for this work, last week city crews rebuilt a storm sewer catch basin in the parking lot and redirected the flow to pipes on Depot Drive.
This was necessary because current storm sewer pipes un to Front Street and are located below the Twistees building.
That storm sewer is now abandoned and will be filled.
“We look forward to completion of the parking lot work soon after asphalt plants open in mid-late April,” Anderson said.
