Transition Council fetes Ayers, Sullivan

In attendance at the presentation of service awards by the Transition Council were Louis Chism, LCISD director of special education; Susan Sullivan, SMC; Tom Ayers, DHS; and Susan Searight, LCISD transition coordinator.

Cass County Transition Council presented service awards to Tom Ayers, family independence manager, Cass County Department of Human Services, and Susan Sullivan, special populations coordinator, Southwestern Michigan College.
Ayers and Sullivan have served 10 years on the Transition Council is an advisory and networking group with district schools and service agencies.
The primary focus of the council is to build partnerships in support of students with disabilities and their families, as students transition through secondary school programs into post secondary education, training and independent living.
